John Raimo received his education at Princeton and Oxford Universities prior to studying history at Columbia University, l’École normale supérieure, and l’École des hautes études en sciences sociales in Paris. John now studies as a PhD. student in the Department of History at New York University. He has lived in the US, Britain, the Czech Republic, Germany, and France. John’s broader fields of interest include modern European history, bibliography, historiography, the history of scholarship, and intellectual history. Some research interests include postwar Czech, French, German, and Italian intellectual history the history of the book, the history of reading, publishing history, and historiography.
His personal interests include cinema, contemporary literature, music, and politics. In his spare time, John enjoys cooking, hiking, learning new languages, listening to and playing all sorts of music, photography, running, skiing, translating, travel, and writing.
